SHREWSBURY FIRE STATIONS
The Town of Shrewsbury and their architect retained WDADG for the design of their new Fire Station headquarters on Church Street and the Fire Station at Cen Tech Park. WDADG provided full civil engineering design services and permitting for both projects. The location of the proposed headquarters on Church Street, directly behind the existing historic Fire Station building, required immediate input on improvements related to drainage and other appurtenances. Based on our design plan, an Article was quickly prepared for Shrewsbury's annual Town Meeting to purchase a parcel from the abutter. The project permitting was complicated given the building is in the heart of the Shrewsbury Historic District, where past municipal projects in the district have proven contentious, so involvement of stakeholders was important to the project's success.
