The 2018 Smart Growth Awards Go To...

The Newport Transportation and Visitors Center client (RIPTA, City of Newport) and design team (Northeast Collaborative Architects, WDA Design Group, and Pare Corporation) are the recipients of a 2018 Outstanding Smart Growth Project Award from Grow Smart RI.

WDA’s scope included developing vehicular, pedestrian, and bicyclist circulation and safety solutions, ADA compliance, design and selection of hardscape surfaces and site furnishings, planting design, and resilient green infrastructure solutions such as rain gardens, bioretention basins and permeable pavers.

Newport Celebrates Ribbon Cutting at New Transportation and Visitors Center

Newport, Rhode Island celebrates the grand opening of it's restored and redesigned Gateway Center. The project repaired damage that was sustained in 2012 during Hurricane Sandy. The project also provides much needed pedestrian and vehicular safety upgrades. Designed in collaboration with Northeast Collaborative Architects and Pare Corporation the redesigned Gateway Center incorporates resiliency measures that will greatly reduce the impact of future storms.

Holbrook Massachusetts celebrates the grand opening of its contemporary 217,353 square foot school facility designed by Flansburgh Architects . Now with phase 2 underway - construction of the remaining landscape, parking and synthetic turf sports field designed by WDA Design Group is underway.
